A superb 17th-century William & Mary walnut cabinet on stand, dating to around 1690. Constructed in two sections, the cabinet is beautifully veneered in richly figured walnut and extensively decorated with seaweed marquetry, with finely detailed panels to the doors and drawers. The interior is fitted with an arrangement of small drawers and compartments, with working lock and key. The lower section is fitted with two short over two long graduated drawers, all with decorative brass drop handles, and stands on four distinctive bun feet. A particularly decorative and impressive example. The cabinet separates into two pieces for ease of transportation.
