A fine quality mid-19th century Victorian chest of drawers, in an attractive pollard burr oak, displaying a rich colour and striking grain pattern. This well-proportioned piece features rounded corners and stands on a shaped plinth base, giving it a pleasing and elegant form.
The arrangement consists of two short drawers over three full-width graduating drawers, each retaining their original turned bun handles and fitted with the original Brahma locks. The craftsmanship is excellent, with solid mahogany drawer linings, hand-cut dovetails, and smooth-running drawers that provide generous storage.
This chest remains in very good condition, having aged beautifully with a fine patina that highlights the quality of the veneers. The drawers open and close well, a testament to its durable Victorian construction.
