A rare and highly decorative Dutch architect’s or drawing table dating to the late 18th century, circa 1780.
The table top is profusely inlaid with intricate marquetry, featuring a finely detailed central floral bouquet surrounded by scrolling foliate borders and geometric banding, executed in contrasting veneers that create a rich and vibrant surface.
The height-adjustable top tilts to form an angled drafting surface, revealing a useful storage compartment beneath, and the table also retains a single drawer to the front with brass ring handles.
The base stands on tapered square legs with marquetry inlay, joined by a shaped X-stretcher, terminating in ebonised bun feet.
In very good condition, ready for the home.
