With figured walnut cross banding in warm, rich colour and beautiful grain patterns, the bookcase features a two-part construction for ease of movement. The upper section comprises a pair of glazed doors, opening to reveal an interior fitted with 2 height adjustable shelves.
The lower section offers a secretaire drawer at the top, with a drop front that opens to reveal a fitted interior. This includes various compartments and pigeonholes, perfect for stationery storage or use as a compact writing desk. Beneath the secretaire are 2 full-length drawers, each fitted with brass handles.
The bookcase stands on bracket feet, and the proportions are well-balanced, with elegant lines and subtle moulding typical of the Queen Anne period.
