A handsome and substantial partners desk, crafted from rich mahogany and dating to circa 1800.
The desk features a newly fitted hand-dyed tan leather writing surface, beautifully finished with a gold-tooled border, providing a striking contrast against the mahogany timber.
Designed to be worked at from both sides, one side is fitted with nine cockbeaded drawers arranged around the kneehole, with brass swan-neck handles. The reverse is equally well finished, offering three drawers above two generous cupboards with panelled doors and a single shelf inside each, making it an ideal free-standing desk for a study, office, or library.
Raised on concealed castors for ease of movement, the desk benefits from excellent colour and patina throughout.
For transportation and installation, it separates into three sections.
